Новая схема: мошенники заманивают россиян «заработком» на лайках в Telegram

Attackers extort money under the guise of remote work

In the spring of 2025, specialists from the Department for Combating Cybercrime of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia recorded a new fraud scheme in Telegram.

Attackers send voice messages with offers of earnings for "likes" and other simple actions on the Internet. At the same time, they introduce themselves as employees of large marketplaces. After establishing contact, fraudsters offer to perform simple tasks for a small reward.

When a user gets involved in the correspondence, they are instilled with the need for investments — for example, they are offered to buy out a product or pay for "premium access," allegedly to increase earnings. In some cases, fraudsters convince the victim to install a mobile application for "remote work," which turns out to be malicious and can collect personal data or intercept access to financial services.

The main target audience of such fraudsters are young people, especially students, looking for part-time work with a flexible schedule. According to representatives of the department, it is this group of users who most often fall victim to digital scams due to their gullibility and lack of experience.

The recording of such cases emphasizes the need to strengthen digital literacy among young people and pay increased attention to offers of earnings on the Internet. The Cyberpolice urges citizens to be careful, not to follow suspicious links, and not to install unknown applications without verification.
