The power of the warhead of the Iskander-M operational-tactical missile system (OTRK) makes it possible to disable targets at a significant distance from the point where the missile hits. This was reported in Rostec.
If the air defense system is covered by a shock wave and fragments of this ammunition, then it is no longer possible to return it to service, the state corporation noted.
Another characteristic of the complex's missiles is high accuracy, which significantly exceeds the performance of foreign ballistic ammunition.
There are frequent cases when they hit, as they say, "on the mark", that is, they hit the object with zero deviation from the aiming point.
Iskander-M is mainly used to destroy enemy air defense systems, as well as other important objects at a maximum range of up to 500 km.
