Polish Air Force intercepted a Russian Su-24 bomber over the Baltic Sea

The Polish Air Force (PAF) intercepted and escorted a Russian Su-24 bomber over the Baltic Sea. This was announced by the Minister of National Defence, Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz.

According to the minister, the incident occurred on the evening of May 22. The order to intercept the Russian aircraft was given by the Allied Air Command in Europe. Kosiniak-Kamysz stated that the Russian combat aircraft allegedly was performing "dangerous maneuvers."

The Russian Ministry of Defence stated that long-range aviation crews regularly fly over the neutral waters of the Baltic and Black Seas, the Arctic, the North Atlantic and the Pacific Ocean.

All flights by the Russian Aerospace Forces aircraft are carried out in strict accordance with international rules for the use of airspace.
