Аналогов нет: импортозамещающую систему для обследования рельс создали в России

The system is highly mobile and allows for diagnostics of railway tracks to be carried out many times faster

Specialists from the Siberian State Transport University have created an innovative system capable of detecting and measuring cracks on the surface of railway rails. This system uses magnetic field variation technology. The advantage of the new system is its mobility. It allows for diagnostics of railway tracks to be carried out much faster than traditional methods.

As the developers reported to TASS on the sidelines of the first instrument-making forum "Прибориум", ultrasonic diagnostic systems are widely used today, but their operation requires the constant presence of a person who will check the rails for defects.

The detection of defects is critical for road safety. Novosibirsk researchers have developed a more mobile system. Now, only one operator is needed to control large sections of track.

This is a diagnostic system for detecting and measuring surface cracks on the rail head.

The system includes special sensors that are installed on a mobile platform and allow tracking the condition of the railway track surface. The system is based on the eddy current method, which allows detecting cracks in rails by changes in the magnetic field.

There are similar systems abroad, but not yet in Russia. Our specialists have already visited several railway sections with such a trolley and collected data. They are currently refining the system.
Tatyana Abramova, representative of the university

Scientists have already conducted experiments on the implementation of the system in conjunction with the company «Евраз». They tested it on the Tyagun — Alambay section in the Altai Territory, on the West Siberian Railway, as well as on the tracks in the city of Ob near Novosibirsk.

Earlier in St. Petersburg, an algorithm was created for automatic recognition and classification of irregularities on railway rails. Specialists studied the system of short and impulse irregularities to identify defects on the rail surface and measure their parameters.
