Japanese company Sony has started blocking Russian accounts in the PlayStation Network that were registered in Kazakhstan, Turkey and Ukraine. A significant portion of Russian players who registered their accounts in other countries to circumvent sanctions restrictions have been banned.
Access restrictions began on May 8 and affected both PlayStation Plus members and regular account holders. In some cases, users could not access not only services and games, but also the console itself.
Users report that blocking notifications do not arrive by email, and refund requests are rejected.
According to the PlayStation Hub community, the restrictions primarily affected accounts that were created after May 7 and used to make transactions between May 8 and 13. Some accounts continue to work without problems.
Previously, complaints about Steam's operation began to appear in Russia. Users reported problems with both the website and the mobile application. Roskomnadzor stated that they were not involved in the problems that arose with the service. It was alleged that access problems were related to a Steam infrastructure failure.
