Gamers complain about blocking PSN accounts in circumvented regions

Users registered in Kazakhstan, Turkey, and Ukraine were banned

Japanese company Sony has begun blocking Russian accounts on the PlayStation Network that were registered in Kazakhstan, Turkey, and Ukraine. A significant portion of Russian players who registered their accounts in other countries to circumvent sanctions restrictions have been banned.

Access restrictions began on May 8 and affected both PlayStation Plus members and regular account holders. In some cases, users could not access not only services and games, but also the console itself.

Users report that blocking notifications are not sent to email, and refund requests are rejected.

According to the PlayStation Hub community, the restrictions primarily affected accounts that were created after May 7 and used for transactions between May 8 and May 13. Some accounts continue to work without problems.

Previously, complaints about Steam's operation began to appear in Russia. Users reported problems with both the website and the mobile application. Roskomnadzor stated that they were not involved in the problems that arose with the service. It was argued that the access problems were related to a Steam infrastructure failure.
