Innovative helmet developed for Su-57 fighter pilots to assist with missile launches

The pilot will see whether he is allowed to launch according to the conditions or not

The new helmet for pilots of the latest fifth-generation Su-57 fighters displays information about both piloting and the combat situation — distance to the target, speed, altitude, as well as aiming marks with the calculation of all coordinates. This was announced by Mikhail Strelets, chief designer of the combat aircraft.

According to him, the missile's homing head deflects in the same direction the pilot is looking. And further down the scales, the pilot will see whether he is allowed to launch according to the conditions or not.

During testing, the first prototype of the new helmet cracked, after which special slots were made for strength, which knock down the furious air flow during ejection.

The new helmet weighs less than 2 kilograms and has passed testing on special rain stands. The helmet was filled with water, tested in a wind tunnel, including for strength, giving a load, including during ejection.

To date, the new Su-57 helmet is already completing testing in the sky and will soon appear on production vehicles.

Earlier www1.ru reported that the full configuration of weapons and protection of the T-90M "Proryv" tank became known.
