The British Navy intends to track the movements of Russian submarines using artificial intelligence technology. This was reported by The Times newspaper.
To do this, the military will use hundreds of underwater drones. The large-scale underwater surveillance system is called Lura, and it was developed by the German defense technology company Helsing.
An AI model trained on the acoustic characteristics of various submarines, ships, and marine life will be used on SG-1 Fathom autonomous vehicles developed by the British company Blue Ocean, originally designed to monitor whales and inhabitants of the seabed.
The Krasnodar submarine became the hero of foreign media a few days ago, which reported on the "interception" of the submarine by the British Navy.
The Russian Navy issued an official denial of information that the submarine was allegedly "intercepted" by the British Navy. The Navy emphasized that Russian combat submarines perform combat training tasks in the world ocean, and "it is impossible to intercept them."
