The newest Russian low-observable tactical cruise missile long-range S8000 "Bandrol" is capable of bypassing the area of operation of the anti-aircraft missile complex NASAMS due to its high speed of up to 650 km/h. This was pointed out by a military expert Evgeny Damantsev.
According to him, the missile is equipped with a small-sized solid-propellant SW800Pro-A95, providing a flight speed of up to 650 km/h. Radio navigation module with interference-protected GLONASS-/GPS-antenna "Kometa-M8" is responsible for protection from electronic warfare interference.
Multifunctional radar AN/MPQ-64F1 Sentinel of the NASAMS/-2 anti-aircraft missile system is capable of detecting "Bandrol" missiles under the condition of deployment at a dominant height or a lattice or universal tower.
According to characteristics from open sources, the flight range of "Bandrol" is 500 km, the ammunition carries a 150-kg high-explosive fragmentation warhead OFBCh-150. The missile carriers are the Orion UAV, with the prospect of installation on Mi-28N helicopters.
