The latest Russian multirole fighters of the "4++" generation MiG-35 have for the first time begun to be used to intercept drones. This was reported by the news agency ANNA News.
According to their information, the aircraft were transferred to the Moscow Military District. The fighters have already shot down several unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) of the aircraft type.
Flight tests of the MiG-35 started in 2017. According to Sergei Korotkov, General Designer of the United Aircraft Corporation, the MiG-35 has already been used in combat operations. At the moment, the issue of its serial production has not yet been resolved.
MiG-35-related MiG-31K fighters are carriers of Kinzhal hypersonic missiles. They are used to engage particularly important targets.
