In 2025, the Ministry of Education and Science will allocate 4.1 billion rubles for the development of advanced engineering schools (AES). Funds will be received by 20 universities.
Funding is distributed based on the results of a competition held in March 2025. Five universities will receive 311.8 million rubles each, ten will receive 210.1 million each, and the remaining five will receive 88.1 million rubles each.
The AES initiative aims to create educational platforms where universities and companies will jointly develop innovations and train engineering personnel. Each school focuses on a specific industry, and business participation in funding is mandatory. Teachers undergo internships at enterprises, and students gain practical experience.
The project was launched in October 2021 and is part of Russia's strategic initiatives until 2030. Currently, there are 50 AES operating in the country, and their number should double by 2030. According to the Ministry of Education and Science, 13,500 specialists have already undergone advanced training, and more than 1,500 students have received practical training. The project is also open to schoolchildren interested in engineering.
