AvtoVAZ sold 32.6% fewer cars compared to the same period last year

102,107 new passenger cars were sold in Russia in April this year. This figure is 25.5% lower than last year.

Lada continues to lead the Russian car market with a share of almost 28%. However, the company's car sales fell by 32.6%, amounting to 28,486 units in April 2025.

The bestseller among the models was Lada Granta, with sales of 12,970 cars, which is 33.2% less than in April 2024. In second place was Lada Vesta with 7,099 units sold, showing a decrease of 46.5%.

Among foreign cars, Haval is in first place with sales of 12,925 cars, followed by Chery with 10,855 units, Geely with 6,664 cars, and Changan with 4,621 cars. The Belarusian brand Belgee rose to sixth place, selling 3,902 crossovers. The top 10 also included Jetour (3,165 units), Exeed (2,881), Omoda (2,619), and Solaris (2,298).

The most popular foreign car was Haval Jolion with 5,522 units sold, although it lost 9.7% compared to last year. The third place among the models was taken by Chery Tiggo 7 Pro Max with 4,129 units, showing a decrease of 5.7%. Lada Niva Travel and Niva Legend SUVs were in fifth and sixth places, respectively.

The top 10 also included Geely Monjaro (2,710 units), Belgee X50 (2,705), Haval M6 (2,607), and Lada Largus (2,259). The domestic station wagon demonstrated a 151-fold increase in sales.
