Azimuth Production Company, part of the Rostec State Corporation, has equipped Sukhumi Airport with modern navigation, radar, and communication systems. The Russian equipment will ensure effective air traffic control using advanced technologies.

The contract includes the installation of 18 different types of products. Among them are the Galactica air traffic control automation system, a radio direction finder, a radar, an instrument landing system, and radio beacons. Radio stations, a voice communication switching system, a complex for documenting and reproducing information, modular control centers, and a control simulator were also supplied.
The quality of Azimuth's software systems and equipment installed at Sukhumi Airport has been confirmed both by Russian aviation practice and at the international level.
According to Saidov, a complex of automated systems is successfully operating in Yerevan. Successful projects have also been implemented in Germany and South Korea. At the Sri Lanka airport, domestic equipment provides flights over the Indian Ocean.
For the first time, the air traffic control system was introduced in 2013 in Kazan. This was done to increase the capacity of air lines during the Universiade. The ATC system is a reliable and thoroughly tested solution that is one of the best in the field of air traffic control.
The company participated in flight checks of the airport. After installation, configuration, and testing of the equipment, Russian specialists will provide its warranty and post-warranty service.
Earlier, Azimuth Company, together with the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia, created an innovative MVRL 2700 radar designed to monitor the airspace in the airport area. The new radar, which has been successfully certified, detects aircraft at twice the distance required.
