Number of main transitions to improve Internet connection increased in the DPR

Infrastructure expansion will provide a more stable connection with Crimea, Rostov and Lugansk

In the Donetsk People's Republic, the number of main transitions has been increased from two to five to improve the stability of communication. The new transitions provide a stable connection with Crimea, Rostov-on-Don and Lugansk, which makes it possible to increase the reliability and fault tolerance of the region's telecommunications infrastructure.

At the end of 2022, there were only two transitions to nearby territories, which limited the flexibility of the network. Currently, thanks to the creation of five directions within the framework of spatial redundancy, communication in the region has become much more stable.

In parallel with the expansion of the main infrastructure in the DPR, work is underway to prevent damage to cable routes during construction and restoration work. A working group has been created to coordinate actions, which includes all key industry communication enterprises. It is engaged in coordinating construction work with contractors. However, not all contractors comply with the rules, therefore, measures are being considered to tighten responsibility for unauthorized actions that lead to cable damage.
