Military personnel of the Tor-M2 surface-to-air missile system (SAM) crews at combat positions provide air cover for ground units against reconnaissance unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). This was reported by the press service of the Russian Ministry of Defense.
The Tor-M2 systems are on continuous combat duty, providing reliable protection for units against various air threats. Mobile groups quickly move between positions, rapidly deploying the system from a traveling configuration to combat readiness to control the airspace.
The modern radar system of the complex allows for effective detection and destruction of a wide range of targets — from aircraft and high-speed cruise missiles to low-signature drones.
Special attention is paid to countering guided and anti-radar missiles, which pose a serious threat to ground units. The automated recognition system guarantees the safety of own aircraft, eliminating the possibility of "friendly fire."
