KMZ has signed a contract with one of Russia's largest shipping companies for the production of a batch of 500 kg Matrosov sea anchors. This is not just an anchor, but a real engineering solution with increased holding power, capable of reliably holding the vessel on different types of soil.
The secret to the Matrosov anchor's effectiveness lies in its well-designed construction. The close-set flukes, streamlined hull shape and special tides with flanges at the ends ensure deep penetration into the ground. When the anchor chain is tensioned, the mechanism works like a crank - the spindle acts as a connecting rod, turning the flukes along the axis of rotation.
The Matrosov anchor is a development of the Soviet engineer I. Matrosov, presented in 1946. The holding power of this anchor is more than four times higher than that of a conventional Admiralty anchor of similar weight. It is particularly effective on weak sandy-silty and hard small-rocky soils, making it an indispensable aid to the river fleet.
The KMZ product line includes Matrosov anchors weighing from 25 to 1500 kg. All products are certified by the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping, which guarantees their high quality and compliance with all safety requirements of navigation.
