The latest "Sokol" drone detectors for intercepting analog video from drones have been handed over to the Russian military. In total, 120 items were delivered to the soldiers, according to the "Laboratoriya-13" design bureau.
Estimated drone detection ranges in open terrain — up to 2 km. The real distance depends on the terrain and the transmitter power on the drone.
At the same time, during testing, specialists intercepted analog video from a "flying wing" type drone at a distance of 7-9 km.
At the same time, the detector has another difference from its counterparts — the product is equipped with the option of enabling a payload when an enemy aircraft is detected. Any payload can be connected, any means of indication that the user has available — a jammer, a light bulb or a siren.
Let's say a detector hanging on a tree detects a drone, wires go from it to a dugout, where an ordinary incandescent lamp hangs. When detected, the contacts close and the light bulb starts to light up.
Earlier www1.ru reported that the modernized "zushka" ZU-23-2 has become a threat to drones.
