The Russian Navy (RMF) may receive cruisers with the names "Donetsk" and "Lugansk." This was announced by the Chairman of the Marine Board, Assistant to the President of the Russian Federation, Nikolai Patrushev.
New Russian ships should be named in honor of heroes and events. I believe, for example, that the fleet may receive cruisers with the names "Donetsk" and "Lugansk."
He stressed that this initiative will be a logical continuation of the glorious tradition, which will demonstrate respect for the feat of the defenders of the Fatherland.
On Thursday, April 24, in St. Petersburg, the mine defense ship "Polyarny" of project 12700 cipher "Alexandrite" was launched. Unique ships have repeatedly proven high seaworthiness and combat characteristics.
