The Telegram channel Fighterbomber, dedicated to combat aviation, has published footage of the interception and escort of an American B-1B Lancer strategic bomber near the Russian border.
The video was shot by a pilot of the Russian Aerospace Forces fighter. The domestic aircraft caught up with the bomber, determined its nationality and type, and then politely escorted it along the border.
Such interceptions and escorts over international neutral waters are standard procedure. Fighters from foreign countries also meet and escort Russian combat aircraft near their borders.
In addition to warning about navigational errors, such meetings demonstrate the vigilance of the air defense systems of the host country.
Earlier www1.ru reported that Russian "Lancets" have learned to track down American AN/TPQ radars.
