New fuel oil spills found in five areas of the Anapa coast

Beach cleaning work should be completed by May 13

On April 27, new fuel oil spills were recorded in Anapa on five sections of the coast. According to the operational headquarters of the Krasnodar Territory, we are talking about minor pollution of a small fraction of petroleum product.

Pollution was found in the areas between Vityazevo and the village of Blagoveshchenskaya, as well as near the "Plyazhny Poselok" hotel, the "Dinamo" recreation center and the "Vityaz" beach.

On April 26, 31 dead birds and one dead dolphin were found on the Bugaz Spit. To clean the coast, new nets with a total area of 875 m were installed, and 38 oiled nets were removed. During the day, volunteers and services cleaned 360 m of beach, collected and removed 356 bags of contaminated sand and soil weighing 12.5 tons.

Work on cleaning the Anapa coast from fuel oil should be completed by May 13, 2025. Earlier, Rospotrebnadzor reported that local beaches were unsuitable for swimming, but the quality of drinking water and air in these areas meets sanitary standards.

Experts in the tourism industry previously noted that the consequences of the tanker crash in the Kerch Strait, which led to the oil spill, will not have a significant impact on the resort season in the Krasnodar Territory.
