The Ministry of Digital Development of Russia is preparing to conduct an experiment on the implementation of artificial intelligence in regional state information systems. The project is being implemented jointly with the Consortium for Research on the Security of AI Technologies, created in 2024.
The experiment plans to test three types of AI: for image analysis, speech recognition, and text processing. The technologies will be used, in particular, for accounting for agricultural land, where processing large amounts of photo and video materials is required.
Testing will take place in the Republic of Tatarstan, Novosibirsk and Sakhalin regions. The possible participation of Moscow and the Moscow region is also being discussed.
The Academy of Cryptography, which is part of the consortium, previously developed a list of tasks for the use of AI in GIS. The Ministry of Digital Development emphasizes that during the implementation of the project, special attention is paid to information security, data protection and respect for the rights of citizens. Following the results of the experiment, it is planned to formulate recommendations for ensuring security during the implementation of AI.
