AvtoVAZ reported that 12 cars of various modifications of Lada Iskra were assembled on the first day of serial production, which is three times more than previously reported. However, according to insiders from the plant, only 4 cars were actually assembled, and the other two remained on the assembly line, they should be completed today.
Minister of Industry and Trade Anton Alikhanov emphasized that AvtoVAZ had done a significant job, restructuring cooperation chains and localizing more than 2 thousand components and elements for the main systems of the car. This gave impetus to the growth of domestic automotive component production.
The official start of sales of the Lada Iskra model is scheduled for July 20, 2025 - on the day of celebrating the anniversary of AvtoVAZ.
