More than ten restrictions on the parameters of the MC-21 aircraft in the air, including the angle of attack, overload, speed and Mach number, significantly improved flight safety, cockpit ergonomics and aircraft handling. This was announced by the General Director of the Central Aerohydrodynamic Institute (TsAGI) Kirill Sypalo.
According to him, if on the Tu-204 only four motion parameters were limited (angle of attack, Mach number, overload and speed), then on the MC-21 aircraft the restrictions concern more than ten parameters, which significantly increased flight safety.
The introduction of side controls, active and passive, also had a great impact on the ergonomics of the cockpit and the handling of the aircraft.
He also noted that research is currently underway in the direction of improving the controllability of the aircraft in a number of flight modes, including landing with a crosswind.
