The latest Russian heavy tank T-90M "Proryv" accelerates to a speed of 70 km/h. This was reported by the press service of Uralvagonzavod (UVZ, part of Rostec).
It is known from open sources that the tank's cruising range on the highway reaches 550 km. "Proryvs" use a four-stroke V-shaped diesel engine V-92S2F. The same power plant is installed on T-72B3 tanks. The engine power is 1300 hp, the power density is 27 hp per ton.
T-90M "Proryv" is the main battle tank of the Russian army. The tank was first shown at the "Army-2018" forum, and the first versions of the tank entered service in 2020. Mass production of the vehicle began in 2021, and the equipment is produced by Uralvagonzavod.
"Proryv" is a deeply modernized version of the T-90 tank platform, the main functional and external difference is a new turret with the "Kalina" fire control system with a built-in tactical level combat information and control system (BIUS), a panoramic commander's sight and a new model of the 2A46M-5 gun.
