The Ulyanovsk Foundry and Mechanical Plant has begun production of titanium parts for the black wing of the MC-21 aircraft. This was announced by the head of the region, Alexey Russkikh.
Titanium parts for the black wing of the MC-21 aircraft are now produced at the Ulyanovsk Foundry and Mechanical Plant.
The head of the region noted that a mechanical processing workshop has appeared at the enterprise for the production of new products.
In addition to parts for the Russian passenger airliner, components for the BAZ off-road tractor will be made. The products are expected: agreements have been concluded with Aerocomposit Ulyanovsk and the Bryansk Automobile Plant.
MC-21 is a new generation medium-range passenger aircraft with a capacity of 163 to 211 passengers. The airliner is assembled at the Irkutsk Aviation Plant. The first flight took place on May 28, 2017, and on December 15, 2020, the aircraft made its first flight with the Russian PD-14 engine.
