Притворяются сотрудниками налоговых служб: в России набирает обороты новая мошенническая схема

Unknown individuals, on behalf of the Federal Tax Service, report unpaid taxes and outstanding debts

Recently, there have been increasing cases of fraudsters posing as tax officials and contacting citizens by phone, email, or messengers. These unknown individuals, acting on behalf of the Federal Tax Service, report alleged unpaid taxes, debts, unsubmitted documents, and the need to file a declaration, explanations, or other documents.

Fraudsters may also send a fake official document or confirmation of an appointment at the inspection office via messenger or email. Sometimes they suggest personally visiting the inspector to clarify or declare income.

The actions of fraudsters are aimed at dulling the vigilance of citizens and gaining access to their personal data.

The agency warned that fraudsters may ask their potential victims to provide the code from the "Gosuslugi" portal or a confirmation code to log in to other websites. Once they obtain these codes, they can hack into the personal account and gain access to personal data, which they can use, for example, to apply for a loan.

Another method of deception is offering to install a special application or follow a link to pay taxes or other mandatory payments at a discount. However, such applications or links may contain viruses that can be installed on the device and steal personal data. The money you transfer allegedly to pay taxes may end up in the accounts of fraudsters.

Earlier, fraudsters developed a new scheme to deceive Russians, which includes two stages. First, fraudsters hack into social media accounts to damage the reputation of their owners, and then extort money.
