The vessel's construction readiness has reached 78.2%, and its launching and mooring tests are scheduled for the summer of 2025. In the autumn, the vessel will be handed over to the customer - the North-Western Fisheries Consortium.

At the current stage, engineers are installing hydraulics, heating systems and pipelines in the engine room. Simultaneously, finishing works are being carried out in cabins and public areas. According to the project manager Alexey Moiseev, the main mechanisms have already been installed, including equipment for processing up to 60 tons of crab per day.

"Kildin", with a length of 61.9 m and a width of 15 m, is capable of fishing at depths from 20 to 400 meters. The autonomy of navigation is 50 days, and the freezer holds have 1000 cubic meters of products. The vessel retains operability with sea waves up to 5 points, which is critical for the Arctic latitudes. The project was developed by "Marine Engineering Bureau - Design SPb" as part of the investment quota program.

The first crab catcher in the series, "Vaigach", launched in 2022, is already being operated in the Far North. Its successor will continue the tradition, strengthening the presence of the Russian fleet in promising fishing areas.

The construction of crab catcher-processors reduces dependence on imports of vessels for seafood production. Localization of production strengthens Russia's position in the development of Arctic resources.
