The crews of the MI-8 multi-purpose helicopters of the naval aviation of the Baltic Fleet conducted exercises to protect the Baltic water area from unmanned boats of a mock enemy." This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Defense.
During the exercises, the helicopter pilots performed flights over the coastal water area of the Kaliningrad region, during which they practiced reconnaissance search for small-sized surface targets simulating unmanned boats of a mock enemy.
After the boats were detected, the machine-gun crews on board the helicopters destroyed them with small arms. In total, up to ten crews of Mi-8 helicopters were involved in the flights as part of the exercises.
