Satellite images of the hull of the lead universal landing ship (UDC) "Ivan Rogov" of Project 23900 ( заводской номер 01901) have appeared online.
The ship is being built for the Russian Navy in Kerch at the Zaliv shipyard ("Butoma Plant", part of the Ak Bars Shipbuilding Corporation JSC).
The UDC "Ivan Rogov" and "Mitrofan Moskalenko" of Project 23900 were laid down in Kerch on July 20, 2020. According to satellite images, the largest length of the hull of the Project 23900 ship is 219-220 m, and the width is 38-40 m.
Thus, these ships will become the largest warships built in modern Russia by a very large margin.
According to data from open sources, the ships of Project 23900 are capable of transporting up to one thousand marines, up to 75 units of military equipment, helicopters and landing boats.
