Chinese company JAC Group plans to open a JAC truck manufacturing plant in Russia. According to Pavel Yachnikov, Deputy General Director of the Russian division of "JAC," the plant will start operating as early as 2025.
According to the top manager, a joint venture will be created at one of the existing automobile plants in Russia. It will assemble JAC N90 and JAC N120 medium-duty trucks, which will be presented in an updated design.
We will use existing facilities, modernizing them. We will bring in production lines in the third quarter, and launch production in the fourth quarter.
These vehicles will be equipped with a 4.5 turbodiesel engine and an improved transmission. Production of JAC N200 medium-duty trucks and JAC K7 semi-trailer trucks will begin in 2026.
In September, JAC truck production will begin in Russia. It is planned to produce from 400 to 600 vehicles during the year. In 2026, production will increase to 4,000 units, and in the future - up to 6,500 per year.
