The Russian Navy will receive new strategic missile carriers of the "Yasen-M" Project 885M and "Borei-A" Project 955A. This was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
According to him, a new Navy development strategy and a program for the construction of surface and underwater ships until 2050 are currently being prepared.
It is planned to build five more "Yasen-M" ships and three "Borei-A". But this does not limit all our plans for the construction of the Armed Forces [of the Russian Federation] and the Navy.
According to the head of state, Russia has plans to build surface ships and strategic missile carriers. At the same time, there are different views, different approaches on what and how to do it.
The "Borei-A" submarines are a double-hulled submarine: missile silos, a reactor, a crew, and turbines are located in a strong hull that can withstand high water pressure. Outside there is a "light" hull, giving the submarine a streamlined shape.
The "Yasen-M" submarines are the first fourth-generation nuclear submarine ships, for which fundamentally new complexes of radio-electronic weapons and automation, the main power plant and technical equipment were created.
Earlier www1.ru reported that a way has been found in Russia to make aircraft engine blades ultra-strong and heat-resistant.
