The Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia has instructed MCST to present the technical characteristics of the new "Elbrus-Next" processor, which will become a key element of the domestic game console.
The development of the chip for the console is scheduled for 2026, and its production is planned to be located in China. The project is estimated at 20 billion rubles. Its financing is currently being согласование in the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
Earlier, the Skolkovo Foundation presented a strategy for the development of domestic game consoles, including possible production in Russia or within the framework of foreign contract manufacturing. Among the options considered are a mobile console, an analog of the Steam Deck, and a stationary game console (such as Xbox or PlayStation).
The Ministry of Industry and Trade also instructed Fplus to provide technical specifications for its FGC-8AU and FGS-88N consoles. Developers of domestic OSs (\"Aurora,\" \"BaseALT,\" \"Rosa\") must provide the ministry with information on the creation of a cloud storage with game catalogs.
