A video of an unusual competition between military pilots has been shown online. A Su-24 front-line bomber and a Mi-8 multi-purpose helicopter competed in the speed of combat vehicles.
The filming was conducted from the helicopter cockpit. At the start of the runway, the Su-24 waited for the Mi-8 to line up with it, and then began a smooth acceleration without afterburner. The fighter overtook the helicopter without even lifting off the runway
Based on the basic characteristics of the vehicles, it is clear that the helicopter has no chance against the Su-24. The maximum speed of the Mi-8 is 250 km/h, while the Su-24 can accelerate to 1700 km/h.
