LUKOIL Hit by Major Hacker Attack: Company Operations Suspended

Gas station payments unavailable, work programs inaccessible to employees

The company LUKOIL has fallen victim to a serious hacker attack. According to journalists, employees were advised not to use their credentials to log into work accounts to prevent information leakage. Additionally, employees were unable to access their computers, as a strange error message appeared on the screens, resembling traces of a hack.

As a result of the attack, not only internal processes were disrupted, but also services for customers. It is impossible to pay for fuel at gas stations using cards. Access to client systems and internal databases was closed, creating difficulties for both the central office and regional divisions.

Access problems are confirmed by data from the Downdetector service. Employees report failures in offices on Sretenka Boulevard, Yakimanka, and Pokrovsky Boulevard in Moscow, where security is forced to manually check data for admission to the building.

It is currently unclear how long it will take to restore system operations. Last year, after a similar attack, recovery took about three days.
