Protects Against Air Attacks: Compact Modular System for Protecting Buildings from UAVs Created at UrFU

The development will make it possible to protect industrial facilities of almost any configuration

At the Ural Federal University (UrFU), in collaboration with the Moscow State University of Civil Engineering (MGSU), a system has been developed to protect energy facilities from unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) attacks. This was reported by the press service of UrFU.

The main advantages that we incorporated into our developments are compactness, modularity, and high technological reliability. Our designs are capable of providing guaranteed protection for industrial facilities of almost any configuration, using standard building structures.
Nikita Fomin, co-author of the development, Director of the Institute of Construction and Architecture of UrFU

One of the key advantages of the new design is the absence of additional fixing points for guy wires. This allows them to be installed in factories with limited space.

The modular system consists of lattice steel supports, силовых тросов и защитных сеток. The main feature of the project is mobility. All components can be easily assembled and disassembled.

Currently, three types of structures have been developed, suitable for rectangular, triangular, and rounded objects. The next step is to test their bearing capacity and rigidity in real conditions and under heavy loads.

Earlier, www1.ru reported that a new system for protecting strategic facilities from UAVs was developed in Russia.
