UTS-800 training aircraft may be equipped with VK-800SM engines. The first flights are scheduled for 2025.
The development and subsequent certification of the new turboprop aircraft engine should reach the finish line.
The VK-800S engine was reworked into the VK-800SM, redesigning much of the power unit, so from 2018 or 2019 to 2025 there was plenty of time.
The only thing that is not clear exactly is whether in 2025 or 2026 the VK-800SM will be shown to everyone and start production. Civilian aircraft are already waiting - this is both the "Baikal" and the Russian-Belarusian "Osvey".
The single-engine UTS-800 aircraft develops a speed of up to 460 km/h, and the maximum flight range is 1200 km at an altitude of up to 6000 m. UTS-800 is equipped with an ejection seat, a standard oxygen and anti-icing system.
The VK-800SM engine is a turboprop modification of the VK-800V helicopter engine. The engine is intended for multipurpose aircraft with a carrying capacity of 1000–1500 kg. The basic version of the VK-800 weighs about 140 kg and a power of about 800 hp
