New kamikaze drone interceptor developed in Russia: first footage appears

Module equipped with a homing head

The Russian military has a new domestic unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) interception system. The manufacturer of the new product is still unknown, but the footage has already appeared online.

The complex is equipped with a remotely controlled combat module with a bispectral optoelectronic guidance module and a pair of missile-like FPV drone-"interceptors" with brushless motors integrated into the tail stabilizers, placed according to the "pulling" scheme.

The drones are equipped with thermal imaging television homing heads (MWIR / CMOS or CCD sensors).

The combat module is controlled via a wired command and telemetry channel via a remote post/console, which excludes direction finding of the operator's location by means of enemy radio intelligence (as in the case of the Kornet anti-tank system).

Earlier www1.ru reported that Russia will produce about 20 SJ-100 aircraft with PD-8 engines per year: the start date of production has been announced.
