Answering for the airbags: AvtoVAZ declares SRS in its cars safe

New model passed all tests

AvtoVAZ has denied the information that appeared online about an alleged airbag defect in the front passenger seat of the Lada Iskra. The model is being prepared for mass production in mid-April.

Sergey Ilyinsky, head of the AvtoVAZ press service, noted that the new car is being "taught" to be safe and drive correctly. The manufacturer strives to achieve the ideal through daily work and fine-tuning of all assembly equipment and machine mechanisms.

It is the long process of creating a car that reveals intermediate difficulties and problems in order to eliminate them at the start of mass production and sales.

An airbag is a passive safety system (SRS, Supplemental Restraint System) in vehicles. It is an elastic shell that is filled with air or another gas. Airbags are widely used to cushion the impact in the event of a car collision.

The start of mass production of Lada Iskra is scheduled for April 19.

Earlier www1.ru reported that AvtoVAZ announced a discount of 300 thousand rubles on the new Lada Aura under one condition.
