The combat vehicle of the TOS-1A "Solntsepyok" heavy flamethrower system has received protection against kamikaze drones. This was reported by the Uralvagonzavod concern.
The designers, taking into account the wishes of the soldiers, modernized the combat vehicle. In particular, it was equipped with side screens and an anti-drone grid.
In the presented footage, it can be seen that the "Solntsepyok" received lattice screens that covered the guide block with shells. The vehicle was also equipped with a shield protecting the front of the "Solntsepyok".
TOS-1A "Solntsepyok" is a modernized version of TOS-1 "Buratino". The system performs combat missions in close combat and on the line of contact with the enemy, and is used as support for infantry and tanks.
"Solntsepyok" uses unguided rockets of 220 mm caliber with a thermobaric warhead to destroy targets with a volumetric explosion. The radius of action is up to 10 km.
