The SpaceX Crew Dragon spacecraft with the Crew-9 mission crew has returned to Earth. The mission includes Roscosmos cosmonaut Alexander Gorbunov.
The ship splashed down off the coast of the American state of Florida in the Atlantic Ocean on Tuesday at 17:57 US East Coast time (00:57 Moscow time on Wednesday). Crew Dragon undocked from the International Space Station (ISS) on Tuesday at 01:06 (08:06 Moscow time).
In addition to Gorbunov, the Crew-9 mission crew included NASA astronauts Nick Hague, Barry Wilmore, and Sunita Williams. Gorbunov spent 171 days in orbit.
Earlier, the new Crew-10 crew docked with the ISS, which included Russian cosmonaut Kirill Peskov. With their arrival, it became possible for the astronauts of the Crew-9 mission, who had been on the station since the end of September 2024, to return.
Their mission was delayed due to the situation with the Starliner spacecraft, which was supposed to pick up part of the crew, but returned to Earth without people due to technical problems.
