KamAZ to produce 700 K5 generation gas-powered trucks in 2025

KamAZ-54901 is equipped with a 460 hp KamAZ P6 engine

In February, the Russian manufacturer KamAZ produced 20 KamAZ-54901 gas-powered trucks. This year, the company plans to send about 700 of these trucks to dealers.

KamAZ is the leading Russian manufacturer of cars and buses running on methane, and a model on liquefied natural gas is also presented in the new K5 line of trucks.

Production of KamAZ-54901 began in September 2024. Last year, 200 trucks rolled off the assembly line.

Features of KamAZ-54901:

  • KamAZ P6 gas engine with 460 hp
  • Automatic transmission
  • Two cryogenic tanks (for 1060 liters of liquefied natural gas)
  • New sanction-resistant component base
