Russian specialists have developed "Kokoshnik" sapper FPV drones for humanitarian demining. Work is currently underway to create a new scenario for using FPV systems for demining equipment and buildings in the liberated territories, according to Dmitry Kuzyakin, General Director of the Center for Integrated Unmanned Solutions (CCBR).
According to him, the devices are much smaller than conventional FPV drones and have mounts for overhead charges, which they can drop if necessary.
A drone for an FPV sapper does not require complex equipment; it does not need to overcome enemy electronic warfare (EW) systems or set up a network of repeaters. Its work is at much shorter distances. But it is complicated by the non-trivial delivery of an explosive munition to the place of detonation.
In addition to using an initiating munition, sapper FPV drones can also function as mobile surveillance cameras or jammers for subsequent neutralization.
The devices will become a new universal tool; where there may be an FPV device controlled by a trained sapper-pilot, there is no need for our soldiers to be present.
