The Iranian army has begun receiving high-precision Russian ORSIS T-5000 sniper rifles. Footage of the new weapons appeared online during a presentation to the commander of the Iranian army's ground forces, General Kiyumars Heydari.
The ORSIS T-5000 magazine-fed rifle was presented back in 2011. The sniper complex, weighing up to 6.2 kg, is produced for various cartridges. The weapon allows hitting targets at a range of up to 1500 meters with a .338 Lapua Magnum (LM) cartridge of 8.6 by 70 mm caliber.
The high-precision sniper rifle received a manual reloading mechanism with a sliding rotary bolt, locking on two lugs. The uniqueness of the model is that key elements of the design are made of stainless steel.
For ease and convenience during transportation, the rifle is equipped with a folding metal stock. It has a cheek rest and an adjustable butt plate.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that an innovative Avatar reconnaissance drone with a range of up to 40 km has been developed in Russia.
