No inspection for sale: Russians want to oblige to check the serviceability of used cars before resale

The implementation of the initiative will improve road safety

Russians want to be obliged to check used cars before selling them at service stations and dealerships. This was announced by Svetlana Vinogradova, General Director of the Rolf dealer holding.

Today, a bill is being developed that will help revise the requirements for accredited stations in terms of their expertise, increase the list of inspected components and assemblies, which will help reduce the number of faulty cars on the country's roads and increase road safety.

According to a representative of the holding, the identified malfunctions of the car must be eliminated by its owner. This approach will improve safety on the roads.

4.5 million transactions have been made in the country [in 2024] for the sale of cars, which could potentially pose a threat to all road users, since there is no accurate information on how suitable a car sold from hand to hand is for operation.

The bill is currently being developed by the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

Earlier www1.ru reported that self-employed drivers opposed the bill on the use of only Russian-made cars in taxis.
