The Krasnoye Sormovo shipyard in Nizhny Novgorod produced its 10,000th T-34-85 tank on March 10, 1945. This was reported by the United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC).
Historical documents state that the combat vehicle was handed over to the guards-tankers Zolotko and Boiko. The soldiers acquired the T-34 with their own funds. The tank was named "Avengers of Donbass."
Over the four years of the Great Patriotic War, the Krasnoye Sormovo plant built about 13,000 tanks, which is 20% of the total production in the USSR.
Combat vehicles participated in the battles for Moscow, Stalingrad, in the liberation of Europe and the storming of Berlin. In Nizhny Novgorod, 3 million shells were also produced for artillery and BM-13-16 "Katyusha".
