Construction of the Krasnoyarsk Metro Continues: 1.7 Kilometers of Tunnels Laid in Six Months

Work is proceeding in complex engineering and geological conditions

Active construction of the Krasnoyarsk Metrotram continues. The tunnel-boring complexes "Solomeya" and "Ekaterina" have covered more than 1.7 km from the "Shakhterov Street" station.

The work is proceeding in complex engineering and geological conditions, including the use of the modern "slurry wall" method to create stable structures in difficult soils. Currently, two near-tunnel structures are being built at the intersection of Shakhterov and Polyarnaya streets, as well as on Constitution of the USSR Street along the Kacha River embankment.

On Karla Marksa Street, a site is being prepared for the creation of a 30-meter long and up to 14-meter deep excavation pit, which is necessary to continue tunneling.

The first line of the Krasnoyarsk Metrotram will run from the "Vysotnaya" station to the "Shakhterov" station, with a total length of 10.8 km and six stations. It is expected that the deepest station, "Kopylova Street," will be located at a depth of 43 meters. A transfer to the railway station will be organized at the "Vokzalnaya" station. The construction of an electric depot at the terminal station "Vysotnaya" is also an important stage.

Currently, both tunnel-boring shields are advancing along the Metrotram route, each having covered 865 meters, and in the future they will have to travel another 2.5 kilometers to reach the "Karla Marksa" station. The completion of the first line of the Krasnoyarsk Metrotram is scheduled for 2026.
