KamAZ Creates New Cabin for Special Equipment and Municipal Vehicles

The new modernized cabin will subsequently be adapted for the K5 truck line

KamAZ has developed a new type of cabin that will initially be installed on fire trucks and then adapted for civilian models of the K5 generation.

The new development aims to increase the popularity of the modern truck line and should eventually replace the outdated models of the K3 generation.

The frame of the cabin for the Ministry of Emergency Situations special equipment has already been manufactured at the Traks Vostok Rus plant. The production of the new modification required the introduction of six stamping and six control tooling.

The developed compact module features a low landing, which facilitates quick exit of the crew. The space provided on top for the ladder makes the design convenient for fire trucks.

In the future, such cabins may also find application in municipal equipment, for example, for garbage trucks, where a minimum landing height is important, and the presence of a motor tunnel does not create inconvenience.

Currently, K5 generation trucks are equipped with two cabin options: the flagship model 54901 received a spacious version with a wide interior, high roof and flat floor, and the regional tractor 54902 - a more compact version with a lowered roof and motor tunnel. The new development will be the third option, offering a unique solution for the Ministry of Emergency Situations special equipment.
