The Rosatom State Corporation and MEPhI have opened a bioprinting laboratory. Its employees will grow biocompatible equivalents of blood vessels from patients' cells, the corporation's press service reported.
The central equipment of the laboratory is a biofabricator developed by Rosatom scientists. It can be used to simulate tissue growth processes at the micro level.
All the fantastic progress of biomedicine and life sciences over the past decades is associated with the penetration of physical methods of research, diagnostics, and analysis into them - these are magnetic resonance imagers, lasers.
Shevchenko expressed hope that new methods will appear within the walls of the laboratory that will allow to defeat incurable diseases.
