Construction of the first nuclear power plant (NPP) "El Dabaa" continues in Egypt. Specialists have completed the installation of the second tier of the internal containment structure (ICS) at power unit No. 2. This was reported by Rosatom's press service.
This event was implemented ahead of schedule thanks to the close cooperation of the Egyptian and Russian sides, as well as the use of advanced engineering solutions.
After the installation of the reactor containment, nuclear scientists will begin reinforcing and installing formwork, and concreting the second tier of the ICS.
El Dabaa NPP is being built by Rosatom specialists on the northern coast of Egypt, 3.5 km from the Mediterranean Sea. Four power units are being built at the station. The facility will be commissioned in 2028.
