President Vladimir Putin instructed to speed up the process of developing regulatory measures to combat fraud in Russia, emphasizing the need to avoid a "cooling-off period" in decision-making.
He stressed the importance of the rapid implementation of these measures to improve the effectiveness of countering criminal activities, such as telephone and Internet fraud.
Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Grigorenko said that as part of the fight against Internet fraud, a comprehensive bill is being developed that should deprive cybercriminals of the opportunity to use existing mass fraudulent schemes. He noted that the main emphasis is on providing citizens with simple tools for self-defense and eliminating the possibility for fraudsters to exploit already popular schemes.
The introduction of a self-ban on receiving foreign calls is also being discussed, which will become part of a general package of measures aimed at strengthening the protection of citizens from fraudulent activities.
